Mike Yeomans posted a top-10 finish to lead Solon to a fifth-place team finish in a strong field at the Williamsburg Invitational on Tuesday at the Williamsburg Sports Complex.

Yeomans finished ninth in a time of 16:59.14 to help Solon rack up 132 points.

Class 3A second-ranked Pella won the team title with 42 points while No. 9 Mount Vernon-Lisbon was second with 91 points and 2A fifth-ranked Danville/New London was third with 111.

Class 2A second-ranked Tipton was fourth with 112 points.

Brick Kabela finished 12^th for Solon in a time of 17:03.96 while Grant Bumsted added a 32^nd place finish for the Spartans in a time of 17:59.08.

Chase Lauman of Pella won the individual title in a time of 16:26.
