The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level.
The Alumni Report is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Brendan Mott
Former West High standout and current Kansas State junior defensive end Brendan Mott had a tackle on Saturday helping Kansas State to a 41-34 win at sixth-ranked Oklahoma.
In four games this season the 6-5, 240-pound Mott has made seven tackles including two tackles for loss and a sack helping Kansas State to a 3-1 start.
Addie Schmierer
Former Liberty High all-stater and current Drake sophomore Addie Schmierer had a strong weekend while helping the Bulldogs split a pair of Missouri Valley Conference matches.
Schmierer had nine digs in a four-set win over the University of Illinois-Chicago and had 10 digs and an ace serve in a 3-2 loss to Valparaiso on Saturday.
On the season Schmierer ranks fifth on the team with 81 digs and has two ace serves helping Drake to a 10-5 start to the season.
Lexi Klinkkammer
West Branch graduate and current Mount Mercy freshman Lexi Klinkkammer had a career-high 10 kills on Sunday to help the Mustangs to a 3-1 win over Missouri Valley in a Heart of America Conference match in Cedar Rapids.
In her debut season Klinkkammer has 37 kills, 13 ace serves and 58 digs while helping the Mustangs to a 12-4 record.
