West High made its season debut in the Associated Press football poll coming in at No. 10 in the most recent 5A poll released on Monday.

The Trojans have won three straight games since a season-opening loss to fourth-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy to move to 3-1 on the season.

City High (2-2) is among teams receiving votes in the 5A poll.

Liberty High (3-1) moved up two spots to seventh in the Class 4A rankings and will host fifth-ranked North Scott (3-1) on Friday.

West Branch (4-0) moved up two spots to No. 2 in the Class 1A rankings trailing top-ranked Van Meter.

Solon (2-2) is among teams receiving votes in the Class 3A rankings.

Other top-ranked teams this week include Pleasant Valley (5A), Council Bluffs Lewis Central (4A), Humboldt (3A), Williamsburg (2A), West Hancock (A) and Remsen St. Mary’s (8-player).
