West High had four runners finish in the top 40 on its way to a sixth-place team finish at the 18-team Rich Engle Classic on Thursday at Birdsall Park in Cedar Falls.

Cindy Wang finished 24^th to lead the Trojans while teammates Kate Van Waning, Erinn Varga and Gabby Moniza all finished in the top 35 for the Trojans.

West High finished with 176 points, 11 in front of seventh-place Mason City.

Dubuque Hempstead won the team title with 59 points while Dubuque Senior was runner-up with 65 and Ames was third with 95.

Clear Creek Amana finished eighth with 231 points and Liberty High was ninth with 289.

Wang led West High finishing 24^th in 21:02.9 while Van Waning placed 29^th in a time of 21:19.7.

Varga was 32^nd in 21:25.33 and Moniza finished 33^rd in 21:25.1.

Clear Creek Amana was led by an eighth-place finish from Haidyn Barker in a time of 20:11.3 while teammate Kira Barker was 24^th in 21:26.9.

Kiera Rogers placed 41^st for the Clippers in 21:37.4.

Mimi Marquardt pace Liberty High finishing 48^th in a time of 21:48.1 while Madelyn Johnson was 49^th in 21:51.1 and Malia Taylor was 53^rd in 21:57.2.
