West Branch moved up one spot to fourth in the most recent Class 1A Associated Press football poll released on Monday.

With a 59-0 win over Maquoketa Valley on Friday the Bears improved to 3-0 on the season and trail Van Meter, Pella Christian and West Sioux in the Class 1A poll.

All seven Your Prep Sports area teams were either in the top 10 or receiving votes in the poll released on Monday.

City High (2-1) re-entered the Class 5A rankings at No. 10 following a 55-19 win over Ames while West High (2-1) is receiving votes in the 5A poll.

Liberty High (2-1) dropped to ninth in the 4A rankings after a loss to Western Dubuque on Friday while Clear Creek Amana (2-1) is receiving votes in the 4A poll.

Solon is receiving votes in Class 3A and Regina is receiving votes in Class 1A.

Top-ranked teams this week are Southeast Polk (5A), Council Bluffs Lewis Central (4A), ADM (3A), Williamsburg (2A), Van Meter (1A), West Hancock (A) and Remsen St. Mary’s (8-player).
