City High defeated Waterloo West in a five-set thriller on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division match in Iowa City.

The Little Hawks improved to 4-6 on the season and 2-1 in MVC play with the 25-11, 20-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-9 win over the WaHawks.

Claire Ernst led City High with 26 kills and added 15 digs while Emmy McComas had 10 kills and 15 digs.

Ruby McDonough had eight kills, Lauren Koch added seven kills and Sidney Slay had 56 assists for the Little Hawks.
