Boys Cross Country Roundup: Cheney Leads West High at Cedar Rapids Prairie Invite

West High senior Seth Cheney placed sixth overall to help West High to a runner-up finish in the Black division of the Cedar Rapids Prairie Invitational on Saturday morning in Cedar Rapids.
Cheney was sixth among all runners with a time of 16:52.8 and 4A eighth-ranked West High finished runner-up to No. 7 Cedar Falls in the Black division with 72 points.
Cedar Falls won with 32 points followed by West High, Western Dubuque with 79 and Cedar Rapids Prairie with 97.
Class 3A top-ranked Marion won the Orange division of the 12-team meet with 27 points while third-ranked Pella was runner-up with 39 and Clear Creek Amana was third with 69.
Cheney led West High while sophomore Moustafa Tiea was eighth overall in a time of 17:09.1.
Michael Lee placed 22nd overall while Andrew Polgreen was 34th for West High in 18:12.
Clear Creek Amana got a 20th place finish from Brock Hilsman in a time of 17:38.9 and Peyton Stadler was 26th in 17:5.8.
Jamie Hayes finished 51st in 18:38.3 and Noah Yost was 55th in 18:43.4 for the Clippers.
