West High opened the season by defeating Dubuque Senior 144-39 in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet on Tuesday at the Dubuque Aquatic Center at Dubuque Hempstead High School.

Jade Roghair and Averie Bilskemper each won a pair of individual events for West High as the Trojans won 11 total events.

Roghair won the 100 freestyle in a time of 53.61 and added a title in the 200 freestyle in 1:53.66.

Bilskemper claimed first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle in 26.52 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.53.

West High also got individual titles from Makala Hajek in the 200 IM, Ainsley Young in 1-meter diving, Gretchen Gerke in the 500 freestyle and Carlee Wilkins in the 100 backstroke.
