Solon split a WAMAC East Division doubleheader with West Delaware on Wednesday in Manchester dropping the opener 11-8 and taking the nightcap 5-4.

The Spartans moved to 8-7 on the season and 7-5 in WAMAC play with the split while West Delaware now sits at 3-11 on the year and 3-9 in conference play.

Solon out-hit the Hawks 14 to 11 in game one but West Delaware had four home runs as Susie Funke and Hayley Vaske each went deep twice.

Ava Stebral went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored to lead Solon in game one while Meghan O’Neil was 3-for-4.

Hilary Wilson was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI and Mia Stahle went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Izzy Frees had two hits, scored a run and drove in a run and Camryn Keith had a hit and scored a run.

Kendall Jensen took the loss for Solon in the opener allowing nine runs, eight earned, on nine hits while striking out one and walking one.

Solon overcame an early 2-0 deficit with a five-run second inning in the nightcap and held on for a 5-4 win.

Frees earned the win allowing four runs, three earned, on nine hits while striking out two and walking two.

Stahle went 3-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI and Tiffany Primmer, Carly Ellison, Wilson and O’Neil all had two hits for the Spartans.

Stebral had a double and drove in three in the nightcap while Frees drove in a run and Ellison and Primmer each scored runs.
