Softball Roundup: No. 7 Wilton Holds Off No. 4 Regina in Top-10 RVC Matchup

Wilton made a first-inning run stand up in a 1-0 win over Class 2A fourth-ranked Regina on Wednesday in a River Valley Conference South Division matchup in Wilton.
Seventh-ranked Wilton got a complete game three-hitting from Charlotte Brown while improving to 15-4 on the season and 6-3 in RVC play while Regina dropped to 9-7 on the year and 5-2 in conference play with the loss.
Wilton scored the only run of the game in bottom of the first inning on a leadoff single by Taylor Drayfahl and a pair of Regina errors.
Emma Nibaur took the loss for Regina allowing the one unearned run on six hits while striking out one without issuing a walk.
Gabby Sueppel had a double for Regina while Dani Laughlin and Courtney Kessler each added hits for the Regals.
Brown struck out eight and walked three in the complete game win for Wilton.
