Baseball Roundup: Tierney Lifts Regina Past Mid-Prairie in RVC South Division Showdown

Jack Tierney came up big for Regina on Wednesday as the Regals ran their winning streak to seven with a 2-1 win over Mid-Prairie in a River Valley Conference South Division showdown in Iowa City.
Tierney tossed a complete game four-hitter and went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run as Regina improved to 8-3 on the season and stayed perfect at 8-0 in RVC play.
Mid-Prairie dropped to 7-3 on the season and 3-3 in conference games.
Tierney was brilliant on Wednesday all over the diamond striking out six without issuing a walk while allowing just one unearned run in the complete game.
The junior also had a pair of hits and scored a run in a two-run Regal fourth inning that proved to be the difference.
Jack Clark went 2-or-3 and scored a run while Ethan vonHarz had a hit and drove in a run and Christian Mills had an RBI.
