Softball Roundup: 3A No. 7 West Liberty Downs 2A Fourth-ranked Regina in RVC South Showdown

Class 3A seventh-ranked West Liberty took ahold of the top spot in the River Valley Conference South Division standings with a 4-1 win over 2A fourth-ranked Regina on Monday in a conference contest in Iowa City.
The win was the fourth straight for the Comets who improved to 5-3 on the season and sit atop the RVC South standings at 4-0.
Regina dropped to 5-4 on the year and 3-1 in conference play.
Sailor Hall tossed a complete game for West Liberty allowing one run on seven hits while striking out seven without a walk and also went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
Emma Nibaur took the loss for Regina allowing four runs on six hits while striking out eight.
Morgan Gahan went 3-for-3 with a run scored to lead Regina while Nibaur had a hit and drove in a run.
Gabby Sueppel, Kennedy Connor and Avery Kies all added hits for the Regals.
