Liberty High Senior Harvey Named MVC Mississippi Division Keeper of the Year

The postseason honors have continued to roll in for Liberty High senior keeper Sam Harvey.
After earning Class 2A all-state honors from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association on Monday Harvey was named the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division keeper of the year when the league announced its postseason honors.
Harvey headlined a group of six Liberty High players to earn all-division honors joining senior Grace Heddens on the Mississippi Division first team.
A starter in goal since her freshman season, Harvey made 107 saves and allowed 11 goals this season while posting a 90.7 save percentage.
Heddens led Liberty High with 24 goals and added five assists for the Lightning.
Sophomore Maya Marquardt and freshman Rilyn Breinholt were each named to the Mississippi Division second team for Liberty High while sophomore Bella Tafolla and freshman Alessandra Carvalhaes each earned honorable mention honors.
City High had eight players earn all-division honors after posting a 12-4 record and advancing to a Class 3A substate final.
Junior Claire Brown and sophomores Maclayne Menzel and Ava Bell were all named to the Mississippi Division first team.
Brown led the Little Hawks with 18 goals and ranked third on the team with five assists while Bella had six goals and tied for the team lead with seven assists.
Menzel had two goals and three assists for the Little Hawks.
Seniors Mia DePrenger, Sara Cassady and Morgan Turner were all named to the Mississippi Division second team and sophomores Kelsey Dilanni and Aoife Boulter each earned honorable mention honors for City High.
West High had nine players earn all-division honors in the Valley Division.
Seniors Kenadee Showalter and Jada Dachtler and sophomores Anna Verry and Maya Mozena were named to the Valley Division first team.
Showalter led the Trojans with 17 goals and added two assists and Dachtler had six goals and three assists.
Freshman Paz Martinez and Emma Potthoff and sophomore Serene Hamzeh each earned second-team all-division honors while senior Mattie Harms and sophomore Aly Skala were each honorable mention picks.
