Softball Roundup: Nibaur Tosses No-hitter to Lead Regina Past Anamosa

Emma Nibaur spun a no-hitter and Regina hammered eight hits in a 9-0 win over Anamosa on Thursday in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup of top-10 teams in Iowa City.
Nibaur struck out 12 and didn’t walk a batter in the no-hitter as Class 2A eighth-ranked Regina improved to 3-1 on the season and 3-0 in River Valley Conference play.
Class 3A fourth-ranked Anamosa dropped to 2-3 on the season and in conference play with the loss.
Nibaur hit three batters accounting for all of the Blue Raider baserunners on Thursday and needed only 77 pitches to navigate the seven-inning complete game.
The senior also had a double and drove in a run in the eight-hit Regina attack.
Avery Kies doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run while freshman Kennedy Connor went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.
Courtney Kessler and Jillian Panther each had a hit and scored a run and Alli Clark had a hit and scored twice.
Gabby Sueppel scored two runs Laci Chambliss scored a run and Morgan Gahan had a hit and drove in a run for the Regals.
