Baseball Roundup: West High Downs Pleasant Valley For Third Straight Win

West High scored the first eight runs of the game and cruised to a 10-2 win over Pleasant Valley on Wednesday in a non-conference contest in Iowa City.
The win was the third in a row for West High and improved the Trojans to 7-4 on the season while Pleasant Valley dropped to 4-4.
Seven West High players combined for 11 hits and the Trojans used six pitchers in the win.
Ryne Vander Leest, Cade Adkins, Carter Freidhof and Ben Hoefer all had two hits to lead the way for West High.
Vander Leest drove in three runs and scored a run while Adkins had a double and scored a run, Freidhof scored twice and Hoefer scored twice and drove in a run.
Jacob Koch had a hit and scored two runs, Noah DeSaulniers had a hit, scored a run and drove in a run and Nate Gudenkauf had a hit, drove in a run and scored a run.
Aiden Van Iddekinge tossed three scoreless innings and Caden Noeller, DeSaulniers, Nate Anderson and Adkins all worked a scoreless inning in relif.
West High pitchers combined to allow five hits and six walks while striking out five.
