Ninth-ranked Dyersville Beckman made a first-half goal standup while defeating No. 14 Regina 1-0 in the Class 1A, Substate title game on Wednesday in Dyersville.

Dyersville Beckman improved to 15-3 with the win and returns to the Class 1A state tournament for the first time since 2017 with the win while Regina closed the season 10-12.

Regina had a string of 14 consecutive state tournament appearance come to a close. It was the third longest string of consecutive state tournament appearances in state history.

Dyersville Beckman is the second seed at the Class 1A state tournament and will face West Central Valley (16-1) in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at Noon.
