Boys Soccer Roundup: Cohen-Suarez and Nelson Each Scored Three Goals as West High Advances to Substate Final

Miguel Cohen-Suarez and Michael Nelson each scored three goals as Class 3A sixth-ranked West High defeated Dubuque Senior 7-1 in a Class 3A, Substate 4 semifinal on Monday at Barker Field in Iowa City.
The win was the 13th consecutive victory for West High (17-2) and sends the Trojans into the Substate 4 title game on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. against No. 16 Cedar Falls (12-4) at Barker Field.
Cohen-Suarez and Nelson each scored twice in the first half on Monday as West High opened up a 4-0 halftime lead.
The duo each added a goal in the second half along with senior Ben Nkolobise who capped the scoring with a goal in the 70th minute.
Dubuque Senior closed the season 8-9.
