Four teams from the Your Prep Sports area appeared in the first softball rankings of the season released on Monday by the Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union.

Liberty High, Clear Creek Amana, Solon and Regina will all start the season ranked in the top-15 in their respective classes.

Clear Creek Amana is the highest ranked area team opening the season at No. 7 in the Class 4A rankings while Solon stars the year No. 15 in 4A.

Regina opens the season eighth in Class 2A while Liberty High is No. 11 in Class 5A.

Top-ranked teams to open the season are Fort Dodge (5A), Winterset (4A), Davenport Assumption (3A), Central Springs (2A) and North Linn (1A).
