Girls Soccer Roundup: West High Advances in Class 3A Regional

West High defeated Davenport Central 1-0 on Friday in its regional opener at Barker Field in Iowa City.
Freshman Paz Martinez scored off a Jada Dachtler assist in the 17th minute as West High advanced to the Class 3A, Region 8 semifinals.
West High improved to 8-7 with the win and will face seventh-ranked Pleasant Valley (11-5) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Bettendorf.
Davenport Central closed the season 6-10.
