West Branch defeated Tipton in its postseason opener for the second consecutive season on Thursday downing the Tigers 4-0 in a Class 1A, Substate 4 quarterfinal in West Branch.

No. 16 West Branch improved to 13-2 with the win and will host Prince of Peach (9-5) in the Substate 4 semifinal on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Tipton closed the season 4-9.

Four different Bears scored goals on Thursday as West Branch advanced to the substate final.

Gage Gingerich, Peyton Miller, Joe Hamann and Izaiah Hansen all had goals for West Branch while Gingerich, Luis Hinkhouse and Trenton Schutte had assists in the win.
