Baseball Roundup: City High Slugs Seven Extra-base Hits in Win Over Burlington

Class 4A third-ranked City High kept its hot start to the season going on Thursday with a 9-2 win over Burlington in a non-conference contest at Mercer Park in Iowa City.
City High improved to 4-1 with the win while Burlington dropped to 0-1.
Three City High players had two hits and three drove in three runs as City High scored five or more runs for the fourth time in five games.
Carter Seaton and John Klosterman each went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and scored two runs to lead the way while Gable Mitchell was 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored.
Gavin Koch went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI and Cade Obermueller tripled, drove in two runs and score twice.
Drew Carlson and Alex Knudtson each had one hit for City High.
Max Waldschimidt allowed two runs on five hits while striking out two in three innings to earn the win for City High.
