Solon used two first-half goals to down Class 2A No. 14 Independence 2-0 in a WAMAC cross-divisional contest at Spartan Stadium on Tuesday.

Morgan Link and Elena Swan each scored in the opening 15 minutes as Class 1A No. 11 Solon improved to 12-3 on the season with its third consecutive shutout victory.

Link started the scoring with a goal off a corner kick with 30:37 remaining in the first half and Swan made it a 2-0 gam with her second career goal in the 15^th minute.

Alex Paisley posted the shutout in goal for Solon.

Independence had an eight-match winning streak snapped with the loss and dropped to 12-2 on the season.
