Boys Golf Roundup: Solon Second, Clear Creek Amana Third at WAMAC Super Meet

Frank Haege Jr. shot a six-over-par 78 to win the individual title and lead Solon to a runner-up finish at the WAMAC Super Meet on Monday at Gardner Golf Course in Marion.
Haege Jr. led three Spartans in the top 15 on Monday as Solon shot a 331 as a team to finish six strokes behind team champion Dyersville Beckman.
The Blazers had four golfers finish in the top 10 led by runner-up Luke Harwick and third-place finisher Nate Offerman while shooting a 325 as a team.
Clear Creek Amana got a 10th place finish from Zach McCarty and finished third with a 351.
Haege shot 39 on both the front and back nine on Monday to edge Harwick by a stroke for the individual conference title.
Freshman Isaiah Zoske shot a 38 on the back nine to finish with an 81 and place fifth for the Spartans.
Jack McCarty was 13th with an 85 for Solon while Mac McCarty shot an 87 for Solon.
Zach McCarty led Clear Creek Amana with an 83 to place 10th while teammates Alex Courtright and Jordan DeKoter each shot 89 for the Clippers.
