For the 18^th time in the past 25 seasons West High is a Mississippi Valley Conference champion.

West High got individual titles from four different athletes and pulled away from a crowded field to win the team title at the Mississippi Valley Conference Divisional Meet on Thursday at Memorial Stadium in Waterloo.

Lindsey McKane, Waad Ibrahim, Erinn Varga and Ella Woods all won individual titles for West High as the Trojans finished with 155 points to outdistance runner-up Dubuque Hempstead by seven.

Cedar Rapids Kennedy was third with 124 followed by Dubuque Senior with 119 and Waterloo East with 66.

McKane won the long jump with a mark of 16-7 and Ibrahim cleared 4-10 to win the high jump title.

West High made it a clean sweep of the hurdle events with Woods winning the 100 hurdles in 15.2, Varga taking the 400 hurdle title in 1:06.35 and the Trojan shuttle hurdle relay team of Hebah War, Erinah Carter, Sophia Olivo and Woods winning in 1:06.6.

Helen Penning was third in the shot put, Varga was third in the 400, Olivo third in the 100 hurdles and Lily McConnell third in the 400 hurdles for West High.

The Trojans finished runner-up in the distance medley relay and added third-place finishes in the 4×200, 4×400 and 4×800.
