Girls Golf Roundup: Liberty High Sophomore Pettersen Finishes Third at MVC Super Meet

A year ago Bella Pettersen finished third at an abbreviated nine-hole Mississippi Valley Conference Super Meet.
On Monday the Liberty High sophomore backed up that debut performance with another third-place effort at a full MVC Super Meet at Brown Deer Golf Course in Coralville.
Pettersen shot a five-over-par 76 on Monday to finish third at the 16-team conference event.
Cedar Rapids Washington freshman won the individual title with a two-over 73 followed by Linn-Mar freshman Morgan Rupp with a 75.
Pettersen was one stroke back of Rupp at 76 and helped Liberty High to a 12th place finish with a 409.
West High was 11th with a 406 while City High was 13th with a 420.
Cedar Falls won the team title with a 347 finishing five strokes in front of Linn-Mar while Western Dubuque was third with a 358.
Leigha Pacha shot an 88 to finish in 13th place to lead West High while Annika Rutt fired a 95 to finish 28th to pace City High.
