Liberty High won the team title and Clear Creek Amana was runner-up at the Denny White Relays on Thursday in Mount Pleasant.

The Lightning won seven events and had seven runner-up finishes while rolling up 168.5 points to finish 28 points clear of the Clippers who finished with 140.5.

Washington was third with 114 followed by Mount Pleasant with 98 and Fort Madison with 93.

Ethan Bartachek, Christian Montover and Eric Lucas won individual titles for Liberty High and the Lightning added four relay titles.

Bartachek won the 800 in 2:11.59, Montover won the 3,200 in 10:35.69 and Lucas won the 110 hurdles in a time of 14.88.

The Liberty High distance medley foursome of Wyatt Williams, Luke Meyers, Jeremiah Madlock and Gavin Keeney won in 3:39.9 and Liberty High’s group of Williams, Ben O’Connor, Eric Lucas and Luke Meyers won the 4×100 in 43.79.

Nathan Kinzer, Tyson Baker, Jon Kamba Kaleka and Bartachek won the 4×800 in 8:50.75 and Keeney, Meyers, Madlock and Carter Meyers won the 4×400 in 3:29.42.

Madlock was runner-up in the high jump, O’Connor was runner-up in the 200, Carter Meyers was runner-up in the 400 and Aidan Decker was runner-up in the 1,600 for Liberty High.

Ethan Keeney was runner-up in the 3,200 and Maxwell Thompson was runner-up in the 400 hurdles for the Lightning.

Clear Creek Amana won four events and had six runner-up finishes.

Ben Swails won the long jump for the Clippers with a leap of 20-10 and Gage Freeman won the 200 in 23.67.

Gavin Zillyette won the 400 hurdles in a time of 56.33 and the shuttle hurdle relay team of Swails, Andrew Schlemme, Marcus Lang and Harrison Rosenberg won in 1:02.03.

Isaac Sorensen was runner-up in the 800, Rosenberg was second in the 110 hurdles and Clear Creek Amana was runner-up in the sprint medley, distance medley, 4×400 and 4×800 relays.
