A few days after earning the first number one ranking in program history Liberty High came up with perhaps its biggest win as a varsity program.
Class 3A top-ranked Liberty High earned its first ever win over perennial state power West High on Tuesday edging the Trojans 4-3 in penalty kicks for a 1-0 win in North Liberty.
Liberty High improved to 6-0 on the season while 3A No. 11 West High dropped to 4-2.
Senior keeper Jaxyn Logan made four saves while posting the shutout in goal.
Liberty High hasn’t allowed a goal during its unbeaten start to the season.
