The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Adeline Kenlin
West Branch graduate and current Iowa sophomore Adeline Kenlin became the first Iowa gymnast to advance to the NCAA Championships since 2017 when she scored a 9.950 to finish second in the balance beam at the Regional final in Raleigh North Carolina earlier this month.
Kenlin is the 11th Iowa individual to advance to the NCCA Championships and the second ever on the beam.
She will compete at the NCAA Championships from April 14-16 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Sarah Lehman
Former Regina all-stater Sarah Lehman continued her strong season for DePaul this weekend throwing 19 innings without allowing an earned run while collecting two wins and a save in a series sweep of Seton Hall.
Lehman struck out nine in seven innings of scoreless relief to earn the win on Friday and worked a perfect seventh to get the save in an 8-7 victory on Saturday.
In the series finale on Sunday Lehman went the distance, striking out nine and allowing just one unearned run on four hits in a 4-1 win.
Kobey Schlotman
Clear Creek Amana graduate Kobe Schlotman tossed seven strong innings for Mount Mercy on Friday in a 4-2 eight-inning loss to Central Methodist.
Schlotman allowed just two runs, one earned, on six hits and struck out nine on Friday.
On the season the senior left-hander is 6-0 with a 1.99 ERA and has struck out 63 in a team-high 45 1/3 innings.
