As a three-sport standout Luke Meyers has bounced from sport to sport throughout the various seasons throughout his high school career.
Last spring Meyers emerged as a standout on the track.
A year later the Liberty High senior announced his plans to take his track and field talent to the next level.
Meyers announced his commitment to the University of Northern Iowa track and field program on Friday with a post on social media.
“I am very excited to announce my commitment to the University of Northern Iowa to continue my academic and track career,” Meyers wrote on Twitter. “Firstly I would like to thank my mom for always encouraging and believing in me. I would also like to thank the rest of my family, coaches and friends for supporting me. I am excited for the opportunities UNI is going to present to me in the next four years.”
Meyers emerged as one the top sprinters in the state a year ago with a breakthrough junior season.
