Senior Madeline Shade snapped a scoreless tie with a second-half goal to lift Clear Creek Amana to a 1-0 win over Dyersville Beckman on Tuesday in the season opener for both teams in Tiffin.

The win was the third consecutive season-opening victory for the Clippers with all three coming over Dyersville Beckman by a single goal.

Clear Creek Amana won the opener 2-1 over the Blazers last season.

The goal was the fourth career score for Shade who had two goals as a freshman in 2019 and one goal last season.

Freshman Alannah McKibben and Emma Oberg combined for a shutout in goal for the Clippers.
