Liberty High opened the season with an 8-0 win over Central DeWitt on Tuesday in a nonconference contest in DeWitt.

Rilyn Breinholt had three goals and Grace Heddens added two goals as Liberty High improved to 4-0 all time in season openers.

Five different players scored for the Lightning in Tuesday’s opener with Ale Carvalhaes, Ellie Heiar and Bella Tafolla all adding goals.

Heddens and Carvalhaes each had two assists in the win while Breinholt and Eva Schrader added assists for the Lightning.
