The Regina boys golf team opened the season strong on Monday with a win over conference rival Mid-Prairie.

Regina had three players shoot 49 or better on Monday on its way to a 20-stroke win over the Golden Hawks in a River Valley Conference South Division dual at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville.

Andrew Triplett fired a 42 to earn medalist honors while Mikey Takacs shot a 43 for the Regals as Regina finished with a 187.

Noah Clark shot a 49 and Noah Kron a 53 for the Regals.

Warren Scharff carded a 47 and Ben Mattes a 50 for Mid-Prairie.
