Defending state champion West Branch picked up where it left off last spring opening the 2022 season with a win on Monday.

Three Bears shot 40 or better on Monday as West Branch defeated West Liberty 159 to 185 in a River Valley Conference South Division dual at Cedars Edge Golf Course in West Branch.

Dylan Countryman and Logan Highly each fired a 39 to pace defending 2A champion West Branch while Gage Gingerich shot a 40.

Brady Knoop added a 41 and Will Bridges a 43 for the Bears.

Ty Jones led West Liberty with a 42.
