The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Kobe Schlotman
Clear Creek Amana graduate and current Mount Mercy senior Kobey Schlotman tossed six strong innings on Sunday helping the Mustangs to doubleheader sweep of Missouri Valley in Cedar Rapids.
Schlotman allowed three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight as he picked up the win in game one of the doubleheader.
On the season Schlotman is 3-0 with a 3.66 and leads the Mustangs in both strikeouts (24) and innings pitched (19.2).
Mary Crompton
Regina graduate and current Illinois State junior Mary Crompton was named the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year last week when the league announced its postseason awards.
Crompton is averaging 9.8 points and 2.3 three-pointers per game this season for Illinois State and ranks second in the MVC with 67 made three-pointers this season and ranks third all-time at Illinois State in career three-pointers with 207.
A 4.0 student, Crompton graduated in three years with a degree in Physiology, Neuroscience and Behavior in May and is pursuing a master’s degree in Biology.
Emma Koch
West High graduate and current Dartmouth junior Emma Koch was named to the Ivy League all-academic team last week.
Koch made 10 starts for Dartmouth this season racking up 91 points, 101 rebounds, 11 assists and 12 steals.
A biomedical engineering major Koch is a Presidential Scholars Program Participant at Dartmouth.
