Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Karsyn Stratton
Clear Creek Amana graduate Karsyn Stratton had nine points and three rebounds to help Kirkwood to a 65-44 win over Iowa Western Community in the Region XI championship game on Sunday.
A sophomore guard, Stratton is averaging 9.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game for Kirkwood which will compete at the NJCAA National Tournament March 15-19 at Port Huron, Michigan.
Andrea Adam
Regina graduate Andrea Adam, a senior at St. Ambrose University, won the seventh national title of her career claiming her fourth national championship in the 3-meter diving competition at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Championships in Columbus, Georgia.
Adam won the 3-meter diving competition with a final score of 226.35, more than 20 points better than the runner-up.
She finished runner-up in the 1-meter competition with a score of 214.65 and finishes her career an eight-time all-American and her seven national titles are the most in school history.
Sarah Lehman
Regina graduate Sarah Lehman tossed 6 2/3 innings of two-hit relief to help DePaul to a 6-5 nine-inning win over Stanford on Saturday at the Tulsa Invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Lehman struck out four and walked one allowing just one unearned run in 6 2/3 innings to earn the win.
On the season Lehman is 3-4 with a 4.50 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 37 1/3 innings pitched.
