Boys Basketball Roundup: Solon Rallies Past No. 5 Washington in Overtime to Return to Substate Title Game

Solon rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to down fifth-ranked Washington 48-44 in overtime on Friday in a Class 3A, Substate 4 semifinal in Washington.
Solon improved to 15-9 on the season with the win and advanced to the Substate 4 title game where the Spartans will face Central DeWitt (17-6) on Monday at 7 p.m. at Mount Vernon.
Central DeWitt defeated Cedar Rapids Xavier 82-75 in a semifinal on Thursday.
Washington closed the season 19-4.
The win avenged a 41-34 regular season loss for Solon to Washington and was the second consecutive postseason win for the Spartans against a team they had lost to in the regular season.
Jake Benzing had a team-high 13 points for Solon while Kinnick Pusteoska had eight and Jake Quillin added seven.
Kasen Bailey had a game-high 17 points and Lucas Kroll had 10 to lead Washington.
