West Branch had a pair of wrestlers advance to the district meet with top-two finishes on Saturday at the Class 1A, Sectional 2 meet at Wilton High School.

Sophomore Logan Wright won the 220 pound title and Lincoln Edwards was runner-up at 113 pounds with both wrestlers advancing to the Class 1A, District 1 meet next Saturday at Cascade.

Ninth-ranked Wright (42-6) needed just one win to secure the sectional title pinning Midland sophomore Keegan Rushford in 2:43 in the championship match.

Edwards (28-3) went 1-1 on Saturday falling to fifth-ranked Wilton sophomore Brody Brisker in the 113-pound title match.

The seventh-ranked Edwards won an 11-6 decision over Dawson Becker of Alburnett in the semifinals before being pinned by Brisker in 2:43 in the title match.

Alburnett won the team title with 227 points while host Wilton was runner-up with 218 and West Branch was third with 113 points.

Timmy Hosier (106) and Dylan Olson (120) each added third-place finishes for West Branch.
