Class 3A eighth-ranked West Liberty built a 14-3 first-quarter lead on its way to a 53-34 win over West Branch on Tuesday in a River Valley Conference South Division showdown in West Liberty.

West Branch dropped to 13-6 on the season and 11-5 in RVC play with the loss while West Liberty improved to 16-4 and 14-3 in conference games.

Delaynie Luneckas had 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and three blocks to lead West Branch.

August Palmer had eight points while Avery Schultes had eight rebounds for the Bears.

Kylie Pickett had six points and six rebounds for Wet Branch.
