One of the leaders for Clear Creek Amana and the anchor for the Clippers on both lines has made a decision on his football future.
Senior all-state lineman Tommy Morlan announced his commitment to Central College this week with a post on social media.
“First off I’d like to thank my parents for everything they have done to help me get to this point,” Morlan wrote on Twitter. I’d like to thank all my coaches, teammates, and friends who have supported me for the past four years. With that being said I am extremely excited to announce that I am committing to Central College.”
A two-year, two-way starter for the Clippers, Morlan emerged as a leader on both sides of the ball.
As a senior Morlan earned second-team all-state honors as an offensive lineman from the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association last fall.
Morlan helped Clear Creek Amana average 318 total yards and better than 27 points per game as the Clippers went 6-4 and advanced to the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.
The 5-foot-11, 260-pound Morlan also had 18.5 tackles and recovered a fumble as a defensive lineman.
Central College is a member of NCAA Division III and the American Rivers Conference and is coming off a 12-1 season in which it advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division III playoffs.
