Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Austin West
West High graduate and current University of Iowa sophomore Austin West broke the school heptahlon record while placing third in the event at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
West won the 1,000 meter in a personal best time of 2:35.03 to finish the event with a program-record 5,832 points. He also had personal best performance in the pole vault (13-11 ¼) and finished third in the high jump (6-4 ¾) and long jump (24-3)
The third-place finish by West on Saturday ranks fifth nationally this season.
Audrey Koch
West High graduate and current Providence freshman guard Audrey Koch had a career-high 13 points in a 95-71 loss at Creighton on Friday.
Koch went 5-of-7 from the field including 2-of-3 from three-point range on Friday and grabbed two rebounds for the Friars.
Emily Sly, Meagan Harvey
Clear Creek Amana graduate Emily Sly and Meagan Harvey came off the bench to combine for eight points for Coe Colle in a 67-53 loss to Central College on Saturday.
Sly, a freshman forward had five points and a rebound and Harvey, a sophomore guard, had three points and an assist for the KoHawks.
