Solon responded from a road loss at Maquoketa on Tuesday with a win over rival Mount Vernon on Saturday.

Ava Stebral and Callie Levin each had 12 points to lead Solon to a 62-44 win over Mount Vernon on Saturday in a rescheduled WAMAC East Division matchup in Mount Vernon.

Elly Holubar had nine points and Hilary Wilson eight as Solon improved to 8-6 on the season and 6-4 in WAMAC play.

Mount Vernon dropped to 6-7 and 5-5 in conference play with the loss.

Makinley Levin had seven points and Kaia Holtkamp added five for Solon.

Liz Dougherty had 16 to lead Mount Vernon while Lilly See had 10 for the Mustangs.
