City High remained second in the most recent Class 5A girls basketball rankings released on Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

The Little Hawks trail only top-ranked Johnston (13-0) in the 5A rankings and at 10-0 join the Dragons as the last two remaining unbeaten teams in the Class 5A.

West High (8-2) dropped two spots to seventh in the most recent rankings following a loss to third-ranked Waterloo West last Friday.

Regina (10-3) dropped one spot to ninth in the Class 2A rankings while West Branch (8-3) slipped two spots to No. 15.

Other top-ranked teams this week are Glenwood (4A), Unity Christian (3A), Dike-New Hartford (2A) and Newell-Fonda (1A).
