Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Cam Miller
Solon graduate Cam Miller passed for 126 yards and a touchdown and also ran for 41 yards to lead North Dakota State to a 38-10 win over Montana State in the FCS National Championship game on Saturday in Frisco, Texas.
The sophomore quarterback completed 9-of-13 passes including a 35-yard touchdown strike on the opening possession of the second half as the Bison finished the season 14-1.
Simon Palmer
West Branch graduate and current Northland College freshman forward Simon Palmer was named to the All-Tournament team at the St. Norbert Holiday Classic earlier this month.
Palmer had eight points in a loss to St. Norbert and had a team-high 17 points and five rebounds in a 66-62 win over Beloit College in the consolation contest.
The 6-foot-6 Palmer is averaging 5.9 points and 4.2 rebounds this season.
Ryan Schott
Regina graduate and current Coe College senior Ryan Schott went 2-2 over the weekend to help the Kohawks to an eighth-place finish at the NWCA National Duals in Louisville, Kentucky.
Schott, who is ranked seventh in Division III at 184 pounds earned wins in dual matches against Millikin and RIT.
