Liberty High fell to Class 4A eighth-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier 59-47 on Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference contest in North Liberty.

Liberty High dropped to 6-4 with the loss while Cedar Rapids Xavier improved to 8-3 on the season.

Avery Gaudet led Liberty High with 14 points while Jasmine Barney had 13 points and five rebounds for the Lightning.

Ava Meyer had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
