Girls Basketball Roundup: West High Gets Back on Track With Win at No. 14 Linn-Mar

West High bounced back from its first loss of the season on Friday against City High with another win over a ranked opponent.
Class 5A fourth-ranked West High got a game-high 17 points from Meena Tate and a double-double from sophomore Melae’ Lacy in a 60-50 win over No. 14 Linn-Mar in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional contest on Tuesday in Marion.
West High improved to 6-1 on the season with the win while Linn-Mar dropped to 5-3.
Tate led all scorers with 17 points and had five assists and three rebounds while Lacy had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Carolyn Pierce had nine points and three rebounds for West High while Anna Prouty had eight points and eight rebounds.
Avery Vest added eight points and four assists and Lucy Wolf had four points, three assists and three rebounds.
Taylor Brunson had 17 points to pace Linn-Mar while Caelynn Obleton had 11 points and five rebounds for the Lions.
