West High Makes Season Debut in Associated Press Boys Basketball Poll

A familiar name returned to the Associated Press boys basketball poll this week.
Perennial Class 4A power West High made its season debut in the Associated Press poll coming in at seventh in the most recent poll released on Monday.
Coming off of an uncharacteristic four-win season a year ago the Trojans are off to a 6-0 start after defeating cross-town rival City High last Friday.
West High is tied with Mississippi Valley Conference foe Cedar Falls for seventh in the 4A poll behind sixth-ranked Johnston and No. 5 Sioux City East.
Ames takes over the top spot in the 4A poll followed by Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln, Pleasant Valley and Waukee Northwest.
Clear Creek Amana (6-0) climbed two spots to seventh in the Class 3A poll this week.
Dallas Center-Grimes is the top-ranked team in 3A followed by Harlan, Estherville Lincoln Central, Ballard and Washington.
Other top-ranked teams this week are Van Meter (2A) and North Linn (1A).
