Lauren Zacharias
West High graduate Lauren Zacharias scored 10 consecutive points in the fourth quarter and had a career-high 29 points to lead Wayne State to a 65-61 win over Upper Iowa on Saturday in Fayette.
The junior guard was 11-of-18 from the field, including 5-of-12 from 3-point range and had a team-high eight rebounds and two assists in the win.
On the season Zacharias is averaging 13.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2 assists per game for the Wildcats.
Cam Miller
Solon graduate Cam Miller passed for 165 yards and two touchdowns including the go-ahead score with 13:44 left to lift North Dakota State to a 20-14 win over James Madison in the FCS National Semifinals on Saturday in Fargo.
A sophomore quarterback, Miller completed 10-of-19 passes for 165 yards and two scores and also rushed for 24 as the Bison advanced to the national title game on January 8.
Rachael Saunders
West High graduate Rachael Saunders had 10 points, four rebounds two assists and two steals to help Creighton to a 71-56 win at Providence on Sunday.
A senior guard for the Bluejays, Saunders is averaging 3.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game this season while helping Creighton to a 7-3 record.
