Grinnell knocked off Clear Creek Amana twice last season including a season-ending nine-point win in the postseason opener.
The Clippers got a measure of revenge on Thursday.
Ben Swails tipped in a Grant Kruse missed jumper at the buzzer to give Clear Creek Amana a 63-61 win over Grinnell in a non-conference matchup in Grinnell.
Clear Creek Amana improved to 3-0 with the win while Grinnell dropped to 2-2 on the season with the loss.
The Clippers led 31-23 at the half and 50-35 after three quarters before a furious fourth-quarter rally from the Tigers tied the game at 61 with 4.5 seconds left.
Clear Creek Amana had to go the length of the floor and Kruse jumper was off but Swails was there for the game-winning put back.
Kyle Schrepfer had a career-high 26 points to lead Clear Creek Amana while Swails added 17 points.
Kruse had eight points, eight rebounds and four steals and Harrison Rosenberg grabbed eight rebounds for the Clippers.
