Gage Marty won an individual title to lead a group of five Solon wrestlers to post top-seven finishes at the Cliff Keen Independence Invitational on Saturday in Independence.

Fourth-ranked Marty won the 285-pound title with a first-period pin of Daniel Chavez of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows to help Solon to a 12^th place team finish at the 28-team event.

Lisbon won the team title with 362.5 points followed by Independence with 346, Osage with 290, Crestwood with 249 and Alburnett with 239.

Solon had 203 points while Clear Creek Amana was 25^th with 76 points.

Lucas Kampman added a runner-up finish for Solon, falling to Drake Collins of West Liberty in the 170-pound title match.

Landon Hummel was third for Solon at 220 pounds while freshman Jordan Schmidt was sixth at 126 and Jakobe Lahr was seventh at 152.
