Grant Gerdin poured in a game-high 15 points to lead Solon to a 69-24 win over South Tama in the season-opener for the Spartans on Tuesday in Solon.

Brady Mullen added 11 points as five different Spartans finished with at least seven points in the win.

Logan Sieverding and Oaken Foster each had eight points while Gehrig Turner had seven and Carson Miller and Jacob Timmons each added five.

South Tama dropped to 0-2 with the loss.
